The Rakkasan’s unique name draws from World War II heritage, referring to the paratroopers from the 187th infantry regiment. The Japanese translation of Rakkasan is “umbrella for falling,” because the Japanese were completely unfamiliar with the American combat tactic of paratroopers. U.S. Army veteran, Austin McGlaun draws inspiration from his time with the 101st airborne , and his current profession as a police officer to bring you one serious knife.

The Rakkasan has a full tang SK5 Carbon Steel blade. The blade features a black powder coating that is not only effective at corrosion resistance, but eliminates glare and looks great. The G-10 handles are contoured and designed to provide a firm and comfortable grip in hand, but they also accent the aggressive look of this knife.

CRKT chose to pair this knife with a tactical Kydex sheath that’s capable of multiple mounting options. This sheath comes with a belt clip, section of paracord, and MOLLE compatibility. With all the mounting options, you can be confident there is a place for the Rakkasan on your rig.
