As Colt knives fade into nostalgia, they are remembered for their quality materials and craftsmanship at a fantastic price. We’re talking about knives that could go toe-to-toe with Case for under $20. For nearly 25 years, Rough Rider has made quality, affordable pocketknives, and with the void left by Colt’s departure, Rough Rider is taking their quality to the next level. The Turquoise Peak series is a great example of the push by Rough Rider to produce affordable excellence.

The Turquoise Peak knives are hand-crafted to beautiful result. The turquoise and jet black synthetic stone contrast the nickel silver spacers well, and the hand placement of each stone makes for a smooth and almost perfect handle feel. The Slant bolsters showcase the craftsmanship that Rough Rider has put into these knives, and the polished nickel silver is embellished with the Slant R emblem.

The Turquoise Peak series is available in the Trapper, Moose, Sowbelly, and Lockback patterns. The blades are 440A stainless and come sharp right from the factory. These traditional pattern knives use a slipjoint design, and have the match strike pulls that are reminiscent of another time.

Rough Rider is really picking up the pace with their craftsmanship. Making a knife for $12.99 that can directly compete with a $89.99 Case is no easy task, but Rough rider looks to have no issues with this moving forward.
