Jason Brous of Brous Blades teamed up with knife maker, Mike Snody to create the Brous Blades Ante Up. Brous built this manual flipper with high quality materials and craftsmanship, and the result is a 8.75″ modern stunner with lighting quick action. You will, of course, have to pony up for the Ante Up. The price tag starts right around four bills.

Brous Blades Ante Up

The Ante Up is available in four styles, all featuring titanium handles and D2 tool steel blades. You can get it in Satin Finish, Stonewash Finish, Black Acid Wash Finish, or as a complete Blackout Finish (blade and handle). The price tag varies slightly from finish to finish.

Brous Blades says, “Lots of time and effort went in to perfect the ergonomics and performance of this knife. We 3D-machine the titanium frames to bring the weight down to only 4.4 ounces.” That’s extremely light for a knife that’s almost 9 inches long.

The Ante Up’s 3.5″, D2 tool steel, modified clip point blade features a hollow grind at both the top and bottom of the blade. To say it looks different than most anything on the market, would be an understatement.  The weight of the blade, the balance, and Brous Blades’ proprietary bearing system and ceramic detent make opening smooth as silk and lighting fast.

“The Ante Up is one of our highest quality knives we have made to date. The pocket clip has also been 3D-machined and is set up for tip-up, right hand carry. The framelock design is outfitted with a steel insert to prevent wear on the lock face,” Brous Blades tells us.

Mike Snody – the Ante Up’s co-designer – began making custom knives in 1998. The Corpus Christi, Texas-based knife maker has also collaborated with Benchmade, Spyderco and Ka-Bar. In 2005 Benchmade won the “Knife of the Year Award” from the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence for the Mike Snody designed Model 425 Gravitator folding knife.
