Artisan Cutlery LittoralWe are extremely excited to write about the Artisan Cutlery Littoral. If you haven’t heard of Artisan Cutlery, they’re an amazing new knife company out of China. Yes, yes, I know “…but China.”  Hear us out. These knives are awesome. They have a simple, reasonable price point that is easy to understand. They have a knife to fit your budget, and your aesthetic. Finally, they make incredibly high-quality knives.

First, let’s explain the price point. If you want to try out their base model, it’s $39.99 and has D2 steel with G-10 handles. Moving up to the $79.99 version of whichever model, the knife will have S35VN steel and most likely carbon fiber scales. Their most expensive, extravagant models will have S35VN steel with TC4 titanium handles and cost $129.99. Pick your budget, pick your steel, and pick your style. It really is that easy with Artisan Cutlery.

Artisan Cutlery LittoralRegardless of the scales, steel, or style, all Artisan Cutlery flippers have ceramic ball bearings. The opening is fast and easy. The only slight hedge we’ll make is that some models have a slightly short flipper. If you’re flipper finger is strong or well-practiced, this isn’t an issue at all.

The specific model we’re going to talk about today is the Artisan Cutlery Littoral.  These knives offer a 3.54” drop point with a dual satin finish and mirror polish.  They’re available in either D2 or S35VN and hardened to an HRC of 58-60. The edge has only a slight curve to it, which increases the utility. Additionally, there’s a fuller near the spine which lightens the knife a bit but also just looks cool.

Artisan Cutlery LittoralThe handle comes in G10, carbon fiber, or titanium. It’s a slightly larger handle than many of their models, and it has a nice hand feel. Each knife in this series also features great looking contrasting hardware.

The action is excellent. The flipper is small enough to be unobtrusive but still function fantastically. Finally, there’s a reversible tip-up pocket clip made from either stainless steel or titanium.
