Colonel Coon Yellow Composition Have you heard of Colonel Coon pocketknives? They’re affordable, traditional slipjoint folders made in the USA. The box tells us they are “Designed by collectors for collectors.” They just released four new knives, and it seems there are more on the way! The Colonel Coon pocketknives feature the immensely popular yellow composition handles and they cost less than $35.

Colonel Coon Knives was originally founded by Adrain A. Harris in 1978. In 1980 he invented his own process for blade etches as well as developed a hinged box. The box is still in use today. If you’ve got a friend or family member who is into the vintage look, a Colonel Coon pocketknife will absolutely fit the bill.

These knives are available in three patterns: A 4.125” Trapper, a 3.5” Barlow, and a 5” Toothpick.  Each knife features 420 stainless steel blades with a master embellishment and a nail nick opener. The yellow composition handles are mounted on a stainless-steel liner.  Finally, each knife has ringed bolsters and a cast metal shield.
