GEC #44 Buffalo JackAs anticipation for the GEC #14 Cripple Creek builds, and as we wait for the new #99s and #85s (complete with what might be new Beaver Creeks), let’s look back at the GEC #44 Buffalo Jack series. This pattern is Great Eastern Cutlery’s take on the traditional gunstock pattern. Currently available under two of the GEC brands, with a total of six different handles, each knife is just a little different from the others, making the entire line incredibly collectible.

The GEC #44 knives all have a 3” 1095 clip point blade and a smaller pen blade. The main blade on the three Tidioute branded knives each have the Circle P etch. This etch indicates this is the Pattern Premiere for GEC. According to our internet research, this makes these knives more collectible as time goes by. The Tidioute #44 also has a nail nick opener, hand swaging, and half stops. These knives are available with OD Green Micarta, Gabon Ebony, and Goldenrod Jigged Bone handles.
