ESEE Gibson AxeGALLANT, AL – Rejoice and be happy for ESEE Knives announced the ESEE Gibson Axe is finally shipping to retailers starting Monday! Coming hard on the heels of the wildly successful JG5, we expect the Gibson Axe will be a unique and fantastic addition to the ESEE line.

Designer James Gibson tells us, this small lightweight carving axe has “a dead-on perfect rocker which gives an axe balance and control. The Viking bearded head allows for close work where you have more control for carving and the finger grooves and chipped scale textures handle with the knob / swell on the end makes for a good gripping non-slip surface for chopping. The all steel frame is as near to indestructible as you can get.”

Full tang constructed, the Gibson Axe features a 1095 carbon steel cutting edge of about 2.75”. The stonewashed black oxide coating increases corrosion resistance.

The overall length is about 10” and the weight is around 21 ounces. The chipped micarta scales are the same as the PR4 and the JG5. They’re both slip resistant and contoured for a comfortable grip, even after extended use.
