The Condor Tool & Knife Ripper is a fully ambidextrous beast designed by Julio Diez. It’s an outdoor knife in just about every sense of the term. Its Scandi ground, full tang blade and durable handles are suited for any task you are faced with on the hunt, on the trail or just around camp.
It features a tough, 4.5″ 1095 high carbon steel clip point blade that you might not recognize as a clip point right away. The long straight clip line keeps the blade as close to a drop point as possible. The bead blasted satin finish looks great and really contributes to the look and feel of the Ripper.
The blade shape makes the Ripper ideal for camp and trail work. We can see it working great for feathering wood for tinder, camp food prep, and moderate bushcrafting. It has a full tang with contoured Micarta handles scales, so it should stand up to tough tasks with ease and gain some character over time.
The Kydex sheath that comes with the Ripper is excellent. While the knife isn’t going anywhere when it’s locked into the sheath, the flared lip lets you easily push down with your thumb and pull the knife one-handed. With the simple switching of some screws, the leather belt loop can also be configured for left-hand carry. Designer Julio Diez tells us it’s “also compatible with any Blade-Tech hardware, such as Tek-Lok or MOLLE loks.”
