We seriously love the look of the USA-made Olamic WhipperSnapper Sheepsfoot Kinetic Mist. It’s got the perfect amount of distressed vibe while still having a clean look that just makes us happy. If you’ve had a chance to handle one of their WhipperSnappers, you know the action is superb. Olamic perhaps makes one of the best, and most easily used front flippers on the market. The action is almost effortless, and the lockup is outstanding. Add that in with quality materials and a fantastic fit and finish and you can see why these high-end folders deserve such rave reviews.
This knife has a 2.8” CPM 20CV modified sheepsfoot blade with a flat grind and a blade thickness of 0.137”. One of the standout features of any Olamic is the effort they put into their grinds. When we say it’s perfectly finished, we mean it. Even their grinds lines are so smooth and even, it’s almost an OCD dream.
For the fast flicking action we all love, all WhipperSnappers ride on a caged ball bearing system with rotation-free pivots. In addition to the perfectly placed and balanced front flipper, they give you the option of a thumb hole opener so you can easily transfer your Spydie flick over to your Olamic. Lock up is rock solid on this framelock with a stainless steel lockbar insert. It also has dual stop pins and a ceramic detent for security in both the open and closed position.
The titanium handles are grey on grey Kinetic Mist which gives this knife a nicely distressed appearance, while keeping a refined and dare we say elegant look. It has all titanium hardware, a matching titanium backspacer, a generous lanyard hole, and a titanium tip-up pocket clip. It’s a friendly ride in your pocket at 4.1” closed and it weighs just under 3.5 ounces.
