The Case 2020 SHOT Show Limited Edition Sway Back is a limited edition production of an extremely popular pattern and an all around beautiful knife. It was available only to authorized dealers, and only if they placed their order at S.H.O.T. Show in January 2020. This knife will absolutely sell out. Once they sell out on the primary market, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to find them at significantly more than $70 on the secondary market.
The partnership between Case and Tony Bose turns twenty-one this year. Rather than celebrate with a cold one, they’ve issued the Case 2020 SHOT Show Limited Edition Sway Back. Case Knives are some of the most collected knives in the world. The is a reasonable priced, beautiful knife that commemorates a long, beautiful partnership between America’s oldest and most collected maker of traditional knives and traditional knife maker Tony Bose.
The Sway Back pattern is an old pattern dating back to the 1700s. Tony Bose took that pattern and made it just a little bit smoother, curvier, and we think prettier. This is the Case production pattern (TB101117 SS) of that same knife. It has black canvas laminate handles (which look an awful lot like canvas micarta, as we’ve previously discussed) mounted on brass liners and secured with brass pins. It’s accented by mirror polished nickel silver bolsters and the Case Badge shield
This slipjoint has an embellished Tony Bose signature on the 2.375” Tru-Sharp Surgical Steel Wharncliffe blade. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity. It’s 3.188” closed and weighs about 2.2 ounces.
