Look, it’s been a trying year. We all know that, but some of you love knives and have been very good this year – even with all the craziness. That means only one thing when it’s Christmas time. It means you deserve that knife gift from the upper echelon – the best of the best. Here are four great options that might suit you this Christmas.
Here’s a Medford that won’t pull your pants off when you put it in your pocket. It’s clean. It’s gorgeous, and it’s just under 7″ long. Don’t let it fool you. It’s Medford through and through.
This Medford Micro Praetorian T Black PVD features a 2.8″ S35VN drop point blade with a satin finish. It’s a manual opener with a thumb groove. This framelock features black PVD coated titanium handles with a removeable tip-up pocket clip and a glass breaker. It’s 4″ closed, 6.75″ overall, and weighs 4.9oz.
2020 took a lot of great people from us, including Hall of Fame Knifemaker, Tony Bose. He will be sorely missed in the traditional custom knife world, and this Bullnose Trapper is among the very last of the Case Tony Bose collaboration knives.
2019 marked the 20th year of Case’s collaboration with the late Hall of Fame Knifemaker, Tony Bose. This pattern was inspired by a large, two-bladed field knife Tony first saw 45 years ago. The Case Bullnose Trapper features flat taper ground, satin finish 154-CM stainless steel blade with a 6.5 BoneStag handle.
This is a classically styled folder with a 3.75″ drop point blade and a 3.75″ spey blade. The bolsters and obverse side shield are stainless steel. Only 1,000 total were made between the five handle materials; Brown Jigged Bone, Jigged Chestnut Bone, Ebony, Abalone and this version, Bone Stag. It’s 4.5″ closed and weighs about 6.3oz. Each knife comes in a padded leather case.
THere’s nothing quite like a pocket showpiece from Olamic Cutlery. The way they are handcrafted means that almost no two are identical. This USA-made knife is as close to a custom as you can get, without the custom price tag.
The Olamic Cutlery Busker Semper features a 2.4″ M390 modified wharncliffe blade with a satin finish and a blade thickness of .14″. It’s a manual front flipper with a thumb hole and caged ball bearing pivot system. This framelock features entropic purple and blue titanium handles with an entropic accented pivot collar, backspacer, screws and titanium tip-up pocket clip. It’s 3.5″ closed, 6″ overall, and weighs 2.99oz.
We all know that Cold Steel knives are known for being over the top, but this one is WAY over the top. It’s a premium S35VN version of the popular extra large Espada, and it’s incredible.
At just over 16″ overall, the Cold Steel Espada XL features a 7.5″ S35VN stainless steel blade with a satin and high polish finish. It’s .15″ and the thumb disk allows you to snag a pocket edge and open this massive knife on the draw. It has polished G-10 handles and steel bolsters. This Tri-Ad lock is truly a beast. It’s 9.25″ closed, 16.75″overall, and weighs a pound.
