Here’s an update for an event we first mentioned to you back in September. We now have the schedule for this free event and it looks pretty awesome. Here are some of the details.
This absolutely free event will be held at Smoky Mountain Knife Works (smkw.com) in Sevierville, TN on Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23. The event is presented by Dave Canterbury and Pathfinder School LLC and will feature Dave Canterbury, Jason Hunt, Jamie Burleigh, and Tony Daniel. Attendees will get a good feel for some of the great things you’ll learn if you attended one of the Pathfinder School programs. Here’s what the schedule looks like for the weekend.
9-10am:
Basic camp cooking gear with Jason Hunt
10-11am (Three Options):
– Processing fire starting materials & using char
with Tony Daniel
– Knife and tool sharpening with Jamie Burleigh
– See Dave Canterbury at the SMKW Mora Counter
11-12pm:
Fish: Processing the Catch with Tony Daniel
1-3pm:
Medicinal plants and preparations with Dave canterbury & Jason Hunt
1-2pm (Two Options):
– Pocket Hunter setup and use with Jamie Burleigh
– Dave Canterbury Book Signing
3-4pm:
Fish and Hushpuppy fry up with Tony Daniel
3-5pm:
Processing campfires from logs to fire lays
9-10am:
Basic Carving Techniques with Dave Canterbury & Tony Daniel
10-11am (Two Options):
– Pocket Hunter setup and use with Jamie Burleigh
– See Dave Canterbury at the SMKW Mora Counter
11-12pm (Two Options):
– Building a primitive willow fish trap with Tony Daniel
– Dave Canterbury Book Signing
1-3pm:
Easy camp meals and tin foil dinners with Jason Hunt
3-5pm:
Cast Iron Chili & Cornbread with Jason Hunt
According to all the information we’ve received, Custom Kydex will be on site all day, both days, and there will be some on-location and on-line giveaways from the event sponsors, which include PKS Knives, Mora Knives, Habilis Bush Tools, Battle Horse Knives, and Blade Smith.
