In 2014 SOG introduced the Kiku series, a tactical line of knives designed by Kiku Matsuda featuring aggressive recurve blades, high-quality micarta handles, and that military tactical aesthetic we love about SOG. Now in 2017, SOG releases a new Kiku 2021 to continue growing this popular lineup, the 2021 Fixed blade.
The 2021 features an innovative full tang design. Its blade is a VG-10 recurve, which is great for slashing and cutting power. The recurve effectively grants you a longer cutting edge while maintaining a shorter blade. The design makes the 2021 just over 8.5” in length, and with the recurve, you’re getting a lot of cutting power for its medium size.
The handles are crafted of a tasteful green linen micarta, and are ergonomically shaped with comfortable grooves on the side to increase grip. The handles also lead to predominant jimping on the tang and blade, which help keep the 2021 where it is supposed to be while cutting.
The 2021 is a versatile knife because its size is practical for big tasks, yet small enough to comfortably carry. The 2021 comes with a high-quality Kydex sheath embossed with the SOG logo. It also features metal lined eyelets and a fully adjustable clip, so mounting it to anything isn’t much of an issue.
