In my line of work, I spend quite a bit of time looking at the knife community online and seeing trends rise and fall. One trend that has been around for a while is the pocket dump pictures which are an artistic form of showing off your EDC. For me, they are important because I can see what types of products are most desirable to the average consumer. One of the popular items that go along with your EDC knife is a trinket that usually doubles as a multi-tool, and the Combat Ready multi-tools are a perfect example of what’s hot right now.
Just because something is popular with the masses, doesn’t mean that they are expensive. The Combat Ready multi-tools offer stainless steel construction, black stonewash finish, and paracord lanyards with carabiner for less than $5. Combat Ready gives you a choice of two different models so that you can choose one that appeals more to your needs.
The Combat Boot model is a small 3 ½” boot full of features. It includes three different hex wrench slots, wire stripper, and a bottle opener. This model is perfect for those little jobs that your average knife can’t do safely. For something small enough to clip to your bag or beltloop I’d say this tool is a pretty great bargain.
Another tool Combat Ready makes is the Grenade. This guy is a bit different than the Combat boot because it still features the carabiner, but it also features a pocket clip too. The Grenade has a universal hex wrench slot instead of three different slots, so you can fit more sizes. You still get the bottle opener but lose the wire stripper. The grenade is a bit smaller than the boot measuring in at 2 ¾”.
