The SOG Terminus is an all-purpose slip joint folding knife. When it comes to folding knives, slip joint knives are easier to clean, maintain, and have fewer mechanical parts that can get dirty and cause problems. Because of this, the SOG Terminus is a durable companion that’s great for EDC.
The blade on the Terminus is different from most of the SOG knives on the market. SOG typically uses AUS-8 for their blades, but the Terminus uses CTS-BD1. This relatively new steel boasts desirable characteristics across the board from edge retention to ease of sharpening.
The Terminus appears to be low-profile when compared to other knives in SOG’s lineup. This is partially due to slip joint knives not having to house additional pivot hardware. However, it’s mostly due to the minimalist G10 handles SOG mounted to thin liners. The molded grip texture on the handles provide a good grip, even though the handles are fairly petite in size.
