It’s been more than 40 years since the end of the Vietnam War, but the scars of that war still run deep. Ka-Bar is honoring those who served in Vietnam with a unique take on a traditional knife. The Ka-Bar Vietnam Service Ribbon Fighting Knife pairs the build of their traditional 12″ fighting knife with a unique stacked leather and Delrin handle that forms the Vietnam Service Ribbon. It’s a true collectors piece for anyone, especially Vietnam Veterans.
The 1095 Cro-Van steel blade has a gorgeous blackwash finish and features a deep blood groove. The real beauty of this knife, however, is sandwiched between the brass guard and diamond patterned steel end cap of
the handle. Beginning just after the guard, high polished Delrin creates the well-known colors of the Vietnam Service Ribbon (deep green and red stripes on a yellow field) in the handle, and the seams between each color are smooth to the touch on this hand-crafted collectible. The handle is finished out with the traditional stacked leather Ka-bar uses on their fighting knives.
The Vietnam Service Ribbon Fighting Knife does come with a genuine leather sheath, but I’d doubt if it finds much use. This piece is primed for the collector and would look amazing on any shelf or in any display.
