The Buck Rival Lockback series looks elegant, is budget friendly, and is made in the USA. They come in three sizes, at three different price points. The Rival III is 4 ¾” closed and comes in at just under $25, the Rival II is 4 ¼” closed and costs just under $20, and the Rival I is 3 ½” closed and is just under $17.
Each Buck Rival Lockback features tumbled 420 HC steel with a drop point blade that has been hardened to an HRC of 58. Buck says, “This is Buck’s standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to re-sharpen.”
Each knife comes with injection molded nylon handles, thumb stud for one handed opening, and a removable stainless-steel pocket clip.
