Buck made a special run of the Buck Spitfire. They kept everything you loved about it, including the price tag of about $35. For the Buck SpitFire in OD Green, the only thing they changed was the color (on the handle and the blade).
The original Buck Spitfire came with an aluminum handle in shiny orange, green, or grey. This special run features an matte OD Green, non-reflective aluminum handle. It has a little more slip resistance, while keeping virtually the same hand feel. They made only a few of these, so you might want to get yours while the getting is good.
It also features the 3.25” drop point with a thumb hole opening mechanism. They added a non-reflective black coating to the blade. It also has all the jimping you expect from a Buck Spitfire – along the spine of the knife, and throughout the body of the knife. It still has Buck’s sturdy lockback and a fully adjustable pocket clip.
Finally, this knife is still being made in the USA, just like the original Buck Spitfire. The balance is good, the knives are sharp out of the box, the action is smooth and consistent, and the locking mechanism is very good. Basically, it’s the same fantastic features on the same fantastic lightweight, easily carried knife you loved last year, it’s just in a different color.
