The TOPS Tundra Trekker is designer Leo Espinoza’s take on the kukri. It has the skinnier waist and curved blade of a kukri. It has the same blade heavy balance like a kukri, but unlike a kukri, it has some pretty heavy saw teeth on the spine and an almost squared head. So, it’s like a kukri, and it’s not like a kukri. It’s something just a little bit different but still freaking awesome.
The Tundra Trekker features full tang construction and a 9”, 1095 carbon steel blade with a tactical stone powder coat. It has TOPS opposing pitch saw teeth on the spine and TOPS tells us the saw teeth allow you to “quickly and cleanly make notches in wood when setting up camp or for certain survival tasks.”
The rounded handles are canvas micarta. There’s jimping through out for a secure grip. There’s a generous choil which allows for a comfortable grip. Finally, the lanyard hole is in the exposed full tang.
