G & G Hawk of Hawk Knives designed the Camillus Tyrant – an excellent and interesting fixed blade design. From the oversized finger choil to the self-sharpening sheath and the unique method of dealing with the paracord lanyard loop, no detail on this knife was overlooked. The execution of this knife is outstanding. Best of all, this outstanding knife is now available for less than $60.
The 3” D2 drop point is Carbonitride Titanium. non-stick coated and features an oversized finger choil. This keeps the hand from sliding forward while cutting. The brilliance of this design is that it functions not only as a guard while cutting in a forward direction, it also secures your grip while cutting backward. If, say, you were cutting carpet and pulling the blade, rather than pushing it.
The included leather sheath is also an interesting and useful design. It can be a nuisance to carry a sharpener with your knife. This sheath has a built-in sharpener so you’ll never have to worry about having a sharpener with you.
Finally, this knife has a paracord loop stashed within the G-10 handle. This is great because a lanyard can be an incredibly useful thing to have, but it can also be a pain to deal with when you don’t need it.
