More than eleven years ago, the Victorinox Swiss Army RescueTool won the IWA Knife of the Year Award. Sure, it’s been around for a while, but it’s still an excellent multi-tool. It’s precisely constructed with excellent materials and features tools that are both useful and practical.
First, the knife on the RescueTool features a 3.25” partially serrated drop point with a mirror polish. The blade opens with an easily accessed thumb hole. It locks in place with a very sturdy linerlock.
The handles on the Swiss Army RescueTool are available in either black or StayGlow yellow. The StayGlow yellow actually glows in the dark. Additionally, the handles are very slip resistant even when wet.
This knife features a total of thirteen different functions. As you’d expect on a rescue tool, it has a seatbelt cutter and a window breaker. What you might not expect is that this tool comes with a disc saw for shatterproof glass.
The flathead screwdriver is lockable, and it has a Philips head screwdriver, a reamer/punch, a bottle opener, and a wire stripper. Of course, it also has the requisite toothpick, tweezers, and keyring. Finally, this knife features an ambidextrous design and is capable of use while wearing gloves.
