The CRKT Ruger Go-N-Heavy is the opposite of a gentleman’s folder. It’s a big, rugged knife designed by legendary knifemaker Bill Harsey. CRKT tells us, “A tactical folder by CRKT® it was designed for tough times. That’s because Oregon designer Bill Harsey gave it one rugged backbone to stand up to any challenge it meets.”
The CRKT Ruger Go-N-Heavy has a whopping 5” stonewashed 8Cr13MoV hollow ground drop point. The blade thickness is a bit bigger than ordinary at 0.188”. There’s a perfect amount of jimping on the spine for a sure grip and a swedge to lighten the tip a touch.
The handles are the real star of the show with this knife. The hard-anodized sure grip handles make this knife distinctive and darned near slip proof.
It opens with ambidextrous thumb studs and locks in place with a secure liner lock. There aren’t pocket clips because this is a beast of a knife. Instead, it comes with a nylon sheath with a belt loop attachment that is compatible with either vertical or horizontal carry.
It weighs in at about 10 ounces and is 6.8” closed. It’s available in either a plain edge or with partial Veff serrations.
