The newly released Kershaw Flythrough is an R.J. Martin design you can get for about $40. It has the distinctive SeeThrough Pivot (STP) most often found on the ZT 0609. Not only is the pivot hollow, they’ve cut out a small section behind the pivot. This lets you see through to the tang when the knife is open.
Kershaw tells us that they’ve designed and included “the STP Pivot Tool. It’s specifically designed to let you adjust the STP on the Kershaw Flythrough and the ZT 0609 so you can have things as loose or as tight as you prefer. Tinker away.”
The FlyThrough has a black-oxide coated, 3” 8Cr13MoV, drop point blade. There’s jimping on the thumb ramp in the spine of the knife and a substantial finger guard for slip resistance. The black oxide coated stainless-steel handle has a sleek and clean design. The manual opening is fast and smooth with Kershaw’s KVT ball bearing system. The frame lock securely locks the blade in place once open, and it has an ambidextrous tip-up pocket clip.
