We love the look of the Camillus Animal. It has some nice lines that are vaguely reminiscent of a Canadian belt knife. The Animal is a durable, full tang, fixed blade knife with a comfortable grip you can get for about $30.
Featuring a 3.5” 440 drop point with a Carbonitride coating, a blade thickness of about an 1/8”, and a hollow grind, it’s a durable knife that makes a great slicer and a good chopper.
The comfortable handles are a combination of glass-reinforced nylon and thermoplastic rubber. There’s substantial jimping along both the thumb ramp and the finger groove. All this gives you both an ergonomic grip with a ton of slip resistance.
It comes with a ballistic nylon sheath with a belt loop attachment that makes for a comfortable carry without adding a ton of weight to your gear. The Animal weighs just under 7 ounces, and it has a large lanyard hole for added security.
