The Kershaw Decibel is new for 2019, but it would not be hard to believe if it was from 3019. Smooth lines and a lightweight build make it a great-looking EDC option you can get for about $40. Let’s check it out.
This sci-fi inspired Decibel looks like the result of turning the visor worn by Star Trek’s Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge into a folding knife. The first thing that stands out about is its long smooth lines. The stainless steel handle has a window cutout that lets you see into the knife revealing the Kershaw logo when opened. A touch of color is added with an oversized blue anodized pivot collar and backspacer. There is also a wide reversible tip-up pocket clip for easy carry.
The 8Cr13MoV reverse tanto blade is a versatile blade style that also just really works with the aesthetics of the knife itself. The dual thumb studs on this manual folder make it super-easy to use with one hand so you can get to cutting in no time. The blade stays open with a sturdy framelock.
