The CRKT BT Fighter Compact has everything you want in a Tighe design with a lightweight, pocket friendly bonus. It’s fast. It’s one of the top ten easiest one-handed manual folders, and the action on this knife is simply stellar. This budget friendly knife has many of the features of his custom work without the steep price point. You can pick one up for about $44.
There’s a good chance we could identify a Brian Tighe design blindfolded. We simply love the lines and the aesthetic of his work. They tend to be on the larger size though. The CRKT BT Fighter Compact is just over 4” closed and weighs about 3.4 ounces.
With the IKBS pivot system, the 2.86” 8Cr13MoV clip point blade quickly flips open with either the flipper or the easily accessed thumb studs. There’s some subtle jimping along the thumb ramp and a slight finger groove for a great grip.
The contoured glass-reinforced nylon (GRN) handle is where the Tighe-look truly stands out. Seriously, check out the lines on this knife. They’re just beautiful. It looks almost exactly like his custom BT Fighter. It even has the button lock that makes closing this knife a fast, easy, and safe one-handed close. It also comes with a lanyard slot and an extra-deep carry tip-up pocket clip.
