CRKT OwletDesigned by R J Martin, the CRKT Owlet has a whimsical look and a budget friendly price of about $20. If you tilt your head just so, you can see it looks a bit like a small owl. Whether you’re enthralled with the look, like we are, or not it’s a seriously handy fixed blade along the lines of the incredibly popular Minimalist series.

The Owlet is a small blade that can be worn as a neck knife or as a small pocket friendly fixed blade. No matter how you choose to carry it, there’s no denying this is a handy little utility knife. It has a 2.125” 8Cr13MoV drop point with a surprisingly beefy blade thickness of 0.146”. We think that’s just thick enough for a decent slice while still leaving plenty of material to handle some light chopping.

The skeletonized handle has an integral bottle opener which adds that much more utility this neat little knife. It has an overall length of just under 4.5” which, with the included paracord, gives you just enough length for a four-finger grip. It comes with a GRN sheath with additional paracord and CRKT tells us this sheath, “…is laced with a black cord that has a spring release so if you get into a pinch, you can let it safely fly.”
