The CRKT Burnout is one of the fastest, most easily used thumb stud assisted openers we’ve handled this year. It’s a full-sized knife with a great action and a good look. We simply love this knife.
First, let’s talk about the most important thing about the Burnout. The action. The action is outstanding because the thumbstud placement is literally perfect. It’s easily reached with no fumbling required. You don’t have to look for the sweet spot, and you don’t have to hold your mouth just so to make it fidget friendly. Get your thumb in the general vicinity of the thumb stud, give it a push, and the 3.66” 8Cr13MoV clip point literally flies out of the handle. The stonewash finished blade has a blade thickness of about 0.15” and jimping along the thumb ramp for a great grip.
The black G-10 front handle has a carbon fiber overlay. This makes it a good-looking knife with a good amount of slip resistance. The back handle on this framelock is black stonewashed which keeps things easy on your pockets. It has a tip-up pocket clip. It weighs 4.8 ounces and is 4.99” closed.
