T.J. Schwarz designed the CRKT Overland with one thing in mind: food prep outside the kitchen. As CRKT tells us, “No matter if your camp kitchen is on a flat rock miles from anywhere or a picnic bench in the park, this knife is perfectly suited for slicing the campfire-charred sirloin.” The offset handle and the shallow belly in this modified sheepsfoot make food prep easy just about anywhere.
The CRKT Overland features a 3″ 8Cr13MoV modified sheepsfoot blade with a dark stonewash finish. And yes, while we know many scoff at 8Cr steel, it is high carbon stainless and it does resist corrosion very well. That’s why it’s perfect for this little food prepper.
The handle is elevated and offset to get your knuckles out of the way while you work. The front scale is OD Green G-10 and the back is stainless steel to house the more than adequate framelock. An anodized orange pivot ring and an integral spacer with a lanyard hole really give this knife a 60’s Air Force flight jacket feel. We love it.
At 7.4″ overall and just 4.4″ closed, the CRKT Overland rides easy in the pocket almost anywhere with its tip-up pocket clip.
