If you’re in the market for a traditional slipjoint, the new Eye Brand Black Composition Copperhead is definitely an option you should consider. It’s made in Solingen, Germany and has carbon steel blades and sleek black composition handles.
The Copperhead pattern is an old pattern with distinctive, protruding bolsters that sinks the back square and protects your pocket. This one has a more subtle hump but it’s no less protective than you’d expect. It’s a two-bladed jack knife with 3.25” carbon steel clip point blades with a mirror polish. It opens with a nail nick and each blade has a blade thickness of about 1/16”.
Mounted on brass liners and secured with nickel silver pins, the black composition handles have a bit of a rise in the middle which gives you just a bit of traction when you’re holding the knife in hand. It has a traditional nickel silver Eye Brand shield. This knife is about 3.75” closed and weighs 3.3 ounces.
