We’re going to cut to the chase. The Tuyaknife Bruiser is a budget-friendly find that won’t cost you more than $50. It’s a solid, full-size EDC flipper that now comes with brown and green Micarta covers. We’ve got the brown version in hand, so let’s talk about it.
The Tuyaknife Bruiser Brown Micarta features a 3.5″ D2 tool steel drop point blade with a two-tone finish. The grinds are satin finish and the flats are black coated, which ups the ante on looks quite a lot. This manual flipper with a ball bearing pivot is .13″ thick and that makes this a very solid EDC.
The handles are an almost WWII US Army Khaki, and they retain some nice texture rather than being buffed completely smooth. This is a liner lock with stainless steel liners. We really liked the appropriately placed jimping on the liner lock in the finger groove and the end of the palm swell. It also has a tip-up removable but not reversible pocket clip.
The Tuyaknife Bruiser is 8.5″ overall. It’s 5″ closed, but slim enough not to take up a ton of pocket space. At 5oz., you can feel it in hand, but it’s not over-the-top heavy.
