What the stubby and compact Gerber Key Note lacks in size, it makes up for it in utility. At just around 3″ overall, this little cutter won’t take up much room, but it puts in big work when it comes to small jobs. Here’s the kicker. You can get it for about $20.
Here’s the thing. The Key Note just doesn’t look like a knife – at least not any knife that most people would recognize, and that’s what we like about it. It’s small, unobtrusive, and looks like a scraper blade and a tanto had a baby. It features a black coated 5Cr13 stainless steel blade.
Gerber tells us, “The dual-purpose blade caters to two separate needs, with cutting and scraping edges.” After extensive testing, we can confidently state this budget friendly tool will both scrape off a sticker and easily slice through the doughnut box.
This linerlock opens manually with the starter tab or the nail nick. Think of the tab as a short flipper that just gets the blade moving enough, so you can pull it out the rest of the way manually.
The aluminum handle comes in either black or coyote tan. For easy carry, you have the option of using the pocket clip or just throw it on a set of keys with the removable keychain.
