The Kershaw Parsec is a new arrival for this fall that reminds us a little bit of the Decibel that arrived earlier this year. If the Decibel was something straight out of Star Trek, then this one is from Star Wars. It seamlessly blends industrial with futuristic. It’s a unique take on a modern folder that you can pick up for about 440.
It has an 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, 3″ blade with a slightly dropped point. The overall design of the blade makes it a good everyday slicer suited for a variety of tasks. This flipper opens up nice and smooth thanks to the KVT ball-bearing pivot, and it locks tight with a framelock.
The stainless steel handles feel nice in hand. When the blade is opened a rectangular cutout creates a window allowing you to see directly through the handles to the other side. An oversized blue pivot cap and standoffs add a touch of color and cool looks, while jimping on the lock bar makes it even easier for one-handed closing.
