The Editor is forever fussing when we bury the lede. Well, we won’t this time. The new Kershaw Diode is an awesome addition to Kershaw’s lineup of little knives, and you can get it for $10. Yes, we said $10. If you’re cart is a wee bit short to get the free shipping, add the Diode to the list. It’s a neat little knife for the price.
The Diode takes skeletonized liners and turns them into one of the features of the knife. Kershaw tells us, “When the blade is open, a cutout locking liner is visible and adds to the interest of this small knife.” Indeed, it does Kershaw. Indeed, it does. It also has a cut out in the similarly textured GFN handles so you can see the cool looking liners even when this knife is closed. It also has an extended backspacer which functions not only as a lanyard hole/key ring attachment, you can use it as a cap lifter. How cool is that?
As far as the knife part of this knife, it has a 1.6” bead blast finished 3Cr13 stainless steel blade. It opens with a thumb groove and has jimping along the spine for increased slip resistance. It’s 2.9” closed and weighs a minuscule 1.1 ounces.
