The Gerber Sumo is a big knife that makes a big statement. It’s also a budget friendly, pivot locking folder with a pop of color that we just love.
There are two models of this knife. The Sumo Black has black and dark gray layered G-10 handle scales with red ceramic coated liners and barrel spacers. The Sumo Gray has gray and white layered G-10 handle scales with an almost turquoise blue ceramic coated liners and barrel spacers. At first, we fell for the red and black. Honestly, the more we’ve stared at the gray that blue is just calling out to us. 
In either case, this knife is 5” closed which is plenty big enough for even a generous grip. It also has an ambidextrous, tip-up pocket clip and lanyard hole.
As far as the action goes, the Sumo is not bad at all! The 3.875” 7Cr17MoV drop point blade flicks open with a thumb hole and locks up with a pivot lock. This beefy beast has a blade thickness of about 0.13” and comes with either a stonewash or a blackwash finish.
