Rough Rider does a fantastic job making some of the finest traditional knives at incredible prices. However, most quality knife companies like to break the mold every now and then by designing something different, yet appealing in its unique way. The Rough Rider Tie-Dye series is just that, unique and appealing.
The first thing I noticed when I picked up these knives, were just how vibrant the colors were. Most “colorful” knives have colored handles and satin blades, but the Tie-Dye series offers their colored handles with a wild tie-dye blade onlay. The knives are available in Orange Swirl or Pink Swirl, both have fantastically bright colors and are very diverse from anything else on the market.
The second thing that I noticed while playing with these knives is the quality of the assisted opening mechanism. I’m not going to lie. For $7.99, I wasn’t expecting to feel the knife snap open so effortlessly with a gentle pull of the flipper. The acrylic handles are a pretty good thickness when you consider how small the knife is. That made holding and using the knife comfortable, even for someone with bigger hands.
The blades are 440A stainless steel and in true Rough Rider fashion, razor sharp right out of the box. The blade is a drop point pattern which is certainly capable of accomplishing any small-time tasks you would come across.
