The Zero Tolerance 0055 is one of the more interesting and innovative knives we saw at Shot Show 2017. This 8.75-inch, titanium handled knife is gorgeous without anything special added, but with Gus Cecchini’s Advanced SLT flipper system it becomes a game changer.

The Advanced SLT’s has a hidden flipper tab. As ZT says, “While the knife is closed, the flipper is concealed. When you’re ready to open it, pull back on the SLT. A spring flips the tab up into position. Then just pull back on the tab and the 0055 opens just like any other ZT. The hidden SLT ensures there’s no flipper tab poking up along the spine or beneath the handle to interrupt the sleek lines of the 0055.”

While this seems like it could turn the opening process into two steps, it really doesn’t. After playing with the 0055 for just a few minutes, using the SLT system becomes one fluid motion, and the tab hides inside the knife while it’s open.
