We regret to inform you that Rough Rider is discontinuing the Blackbeard’s Legacy series. If you’re a fan of the pirate genre, there aren’t many pirate knives you can toss in your pocket and carry around. The Rough Rider Blackbeard’s Legacy knives let you carry your fandom in your pocket, without looking weird and without spending a chest full of gold.

First, let’s talk about the packaging these knives come in. It might be unusual to mention the box first, but the Blackbeard’s Legacy magnetic clasp collector’s box is awesome. In the land of cool Rough Rider Collector’s Boxes, it’s the coolest looking box ever.  It looks a bit like a wooden crate because… pirate.

In the top center of the box is a copy of Jean Leon Gerome Ferris’ iconic painting Capture of the Pirate, Blackbeard. Printed on the inside lid of the box is a brief bio of Blackbeard.  If you’re a pirate fan, you might well think the box is worth $15 by itself.

The second coolest thing about these knives if you’re a pirate fan is the shield.  The Blackbeard’s Legacy series has a resin skull shield. If you aren’t into the pirate thing, trust us, the skull shield is awesome.

This series is available in three patterns:  the Large Lockback, Trapper and Moose.  Each knife features 440A stainless steel with a blackwash with matchstrike pulls.  Mounted on brass liners, the black smooth bone handles have nickel silver pins. The nickel silver bolsters are ringed, pinched, and embossed. And of course they look fantastic.

Finally these knives are available as either a set of two knives (the Moose and the Trapper) or individually.  No matter how you get them, they each come with their own cool box.
