SOG Flash AT-XRWhile the SOG Aegis AT-XR is intended for your outdoor adventures, the intended use for the SOG Flash AT-XR is for every day carry. It’s a fully ambidextrous, full sized EDC with a clean look.

The Flash AT features a 3.45” cryo treated D2 drop point with a titanium nitride coating. It’s available with either a partially serrated or plain edge blade. SOG tells us their “unique cryogenic heat treatment process slowly decreases the knife temperature to -300 F, then brings it back up to room temperature again. This process relieves the blade material on an atomic level, resulting in an overall increase in toughness and heightened wear-resistance. Additionally, knife edges stay sharper longer and demonstrate a significant decrease in micro-fracturing and edge-chipping.”

SOG Flash AT-XRThe thumb stud action on this knife is lightning fast. It’s a spring assisted thumb stud opener, and the thumb stud placement is such that we had no issues finding the sweet spot. Lock up is solid with the AT-XR lock. It also has a secondary safety mounted on the spine that you can easily engage or disengage with your thumb.

The Flash AT has GRN handles with enough texture to provide a good grip without being annoying in your pocket. It’s available in three different colors: Civic Cyan, Urban Grey, or Blackout. It has an ambidextrous tip-up deep carry pocket clip. It’s 4.67” closed and weighs 4.49 ounces.
