If you’re asking yourself what’s “mini” about this knife, just stop. We can’t find it either. The CIVIVI Mini Bullmastiff is a mid-size EDC with a chunk of a cleaver. If you’re picturing the dog from “Turner and Hooch” drooling as it waits to eat you, you’ve got the right picture in your head. That’s the dog this knife is named after, and this knife looks well fed and ready to go (minus the drool – that’s from us).

The CIVIVI Mini Bullmastiff features a 2.97″ 9Cr18MoV stainless steel cleaver blade with a stonewash finish. It’s a solid .12″ thick with a sweeping thumb groove. Honestly, we don’t know how CIVIVI managed to cram this much cleaver blade in a 4.2″ handle, but they did.

It’s a manual flipper with caged ceramic ball bearings, and I don’t have to tell you what that means. It moves. You give that flipper a solid touch and an easy pull, and that blade is open. End of story.

The Mini Bullmastiff is a linerlock with G-10 handles (blue, black or green) and steel liners. Lock up is solid, as is the whole knife with its ambidextrous tip-up pocket clip and lanyard hole.

It’s 4.2″ closed which makes it an easy, but wide ride (with that cleaver blade). It’s 7.2″ overall and weighs in at 3.5 oz.  And here’s the biggest kicker. This little pocket monster is only $49.99.
