The new SMKW exclusive Brown Burlap Micarta Kansept Copperhead is a beast of a knife. It’s a full-sized daily carry perfect for larger grips and those who like a touch of tactical flavor in their knives. It also has a bit of knife history in it.

The Kansept Copperhead has a 3.75” 154CM hawkbill has just about the perfect amount of curve to it, and it has a beefy blade thickness of 0.14”. At one point, 154CM was a high-end, high performing stainless-steel most often found on custom knives. It’s still considered a premium steel, and it’s still an overall excellent performer with good corrosion resistance that both takes and holds an edge really well.

This Copperhead is a manual flipper with a ceramic ball bearing pivot for a fast, smooth action. There’s a generous forward finger choil and a jimped thumb ramp for an outstanding grip, even when you need to choke up on it.

Mounted on nested stainless-steel liners, this exclusive iteration of the Kansept Copperhead has brown burlap Micarta handles. It has a handle length of about 4.75” and weighs in at about 4.67 ounces. The thin profile of this knife means it rides beautifully in your pocket. It has a tip-up pocket clip and lanyard hole.

This Kansept Copperhead is a Branton/Ehlers collaboration that started out life as a fixed blade fighter. Now, in case you don’t keep up with the custom knife world, Bobby Branton has been making knives in his South Carolina shop for more than 30 years. Additionally, he’s legitimately a knife throwing legend as well as the current President of American Knife Throwers Association. Having collaborated with scores of makers, as well as a creative alliance with Gil Hibben, the award winning Paul Ethers has been one of the preeminent fantasy knife designers for quite literally decades.
