When Cold Steel created the SRK VG-1 it had one main goal: create a tough, multi-purpose survival and rescue tool. They succeeded. The SRK VG-1 has been the knife of choice for the military and tactical law enforcement for survival and rescue missions. In fact, Cold Steel tells us, “The SRK is the standard issue knife of the Navy SEALS for their BUDS- or Basic Underwater Demolition training.”
The 6″ clip point blade is coated with a black Tuff-Ex finish which gives it a non-glare rust resistant coat. The SRK VG-1 is sharp right out of the box, and the rubberized handle provides a tough, nonslip grip.
The VG-1 steel provides solid strength and excellent edge retention, and with a blade thickness of 3/16″, it can get down and dirty in just about any survival and rescue situation.
