If you ever get the chance to put a LionSteel ROK in your hand, do it. It literally has one of the most comfortable grips with the one of the best finishes on a modern folder we’ve ever held. First, the ROK has all the LionSteel technologies. This framelock is a SOLID Knife, meaning the frame is milled out of a single piece of aluminum or titanium. LionSteel first invented their SOLID technology back in 2010. As we said up there, this is one of the nicest, most perfect finishes on a modern folder we’ve ever held with the perfect amount of million to provide slip resistance combined with a smooth overall feel. This knife also has ROTOBLOK. This is a secondary safety which, with the turn of the dial, locks your knife in the closed position. For all those who fear the in-pocket, accidental opening that won’t happen with the ROK.
A seriously neat feature is the ReF flipper. The beefy 3.27” M390 drop point blade has a blade thickness of 0.18”, hardened to a 59-61HRC. It rides on IKBS bearings and has a high fidget factor. However, with a simple Torx screw, you can remove the flipper and all but
remove that fidget factor by making your knife a smoothly controlled and easy two-handed opener.
It also has a tip-up H.WAYL pocket clip which means the pocket clip is flush with the knife when it’s not in your pocket. Simply push the button on the opposing side and the pocket clip comes out. It’s simple and easy to use. Put those two factors together and you have a modern folder that will ride easily in your pocket with zero snags. It’s 4.47” closed and weighs 4.44 ounces.
