The Benchmade 601 Tengu combines all the classic style of a traditional folder with the easy use and quality materials of a modern flipper. This is a beautiful pocketknife with a smooth, easy action and the backspacer is like no other production knife. It’s based on the custom work of Jared Oeser and quite honestly, it’s a seriously nice knife that practically disappears in your pocket.
The 601 features a 2.77” CPM 20CV tanto with a satin finish and a blade thickness of 0.121” hardened to 59-61 HRC. It has an easily indexed, discreet flipper with a fantastic action and a ton of utility.
At 0.44” the slim, stacked black and white G-10 handles on this linerlock are contoured for comfort. The pinned shield gives it a refined and classic look, and the stacked black and white backspacer is just stinking cool. It comes with quality black leather slip that we simply love. It’s soft, quality leather with a snug fit. It’s 3.85” and the combined weight of the knife and sheath is about 3 ounces.
