An out-the-side auto Benchmade Osborne 9400 is coming in the summer of 2020. Now, the 940 has been around for a seriously long time and it’s seriously beloved by just about everyone. Benchmade tells us they are keeping literally everything you love about the 940 and “the new 9400 is as true to form as it gets, despite the addition of an auto mechanism.” They did, however, get rid of the one complaint many of you have had over the years. The 9400 has the Split Arrow pocket clip.
The 9400 Osborne has a 3.4” CPM S30V reverse tanto with a blade thickness of 0.115”. It will be available with either a black coated blade or a satin finish.
The handles stay true to the original 940 with olive green 6061-T6 aluminum handles with the eye-catching pop of purple on the backspacer. It has an ambidextrous, tip-up split arrow pocket clip. It has a handle thickness of 0.43”. It’s 4.47” closed and weighs a miniscule 2.65 ounces. All that means you get one heck of a badass knife that’s fast, lightweight, and easily carried.
