We’ve written before that the Leatherman Raptor is a glovebox must-have. The serialized, Limited Edition Leatherman Raptor is a must have for collectors and those who want to give their kit a bit of bling. Available in purple and gold, this is a production run of only 500 models each.
These things are seriously cool because not only are they collectible, they add a bit of bling to your go bag or first aid kit. Oh, and did we mention they glow in the dark? They glow in the dark. Frequent readers know we love things that glow in the dark.
Each model has premium purple or gold PVD coated 420HC stainless steel. Leatherman tells us this, “…creates a molecular bond with the stainless steel, resulting in a beautiful surface that’s more durable and less corrosive. The handles are crafted from phosphorescence material, giving the Raptor high visibility in any situation.” All that means it’s pretty and stinkin’ cool! Now, cool factor aside, we can absolutely see the practical side of this. Accidents don’t always happen when there are ample sources of light. The ability to see a life saving tool in the dark is a good and useful thing.
These folding safety shears have a 1.9” shear length with a 5 cm ruler printed on one side. It also has a ring cutter, an oxygen tank wrench, a strap cutter, and a carbide glass breaker tip on the handle. It also has a replaceable pocket clip and lanyard hole.
It comes with an injection molded GFN holster that’s both MOLLE and Utility Belt compatible that, you guessed it, glows in the dark. It has a fully adjustable rotating clip so you can carry it vertically or horizontally, and it is lefty friendly. It’s about 5” fully closed and weighs about 5.8 ounces.
