Benchmade says the Benchmade 173 Mini SOCP is on its way to stores. Smaller than the original SOCP, this discreet Greg Thompson design is an excellent self-defense knife that “allows the user to maintain dexterity and manipulate other objects without putting down the knife,” Benchmade says.
Benchmade made the Mini SOCP from one 6.25″ piece of 440C steel. It features a 2.22″ dual-edged dagger blade. The diamond-like carbon coating over the entire knife makes it a discreet carry and adds corrosion resistance (not that you need it on a 440C steel blade).
There’s jimping throughout the handle and a finger-loop for an exceptional grip. It weighs just 3oz., so it won’t weigh down your gear, and it comes with a tip-down carry MOLLE compatible sheath that’s great for low-profile carry.
