Since the CRKT CEO was introduced a couple of years ago, we’ve seen an influx of long, lean, easy-to-carry flippers enter the market. They’re incredibly popular with buyers and Buck has decided to get in the game with their Buck Decatur flipper. This model comes in two versions and both are under $28.
The Buck Decatur features a 3.5” 7Cr stainless steel drop point blade with a satin finish. It’s very slicey at just .09″ thick. And, this manual flipper opens smooth and easy, especially for a $28 knife.
This linerlock is available in two handle materials: (which we won’t try to pronounce on a dare) Guibourtia Ehie Wood and black G-10. Both have steel liners and with a tip-down, right-carry removable pocket clip.
The Buck Decatur is 4.5″ closed and opens up to 8″ overall. That makes it at least an upper medium length EDC flipper, if not a full size flipper, but don’t let that length fool you. This is a very slim folder that weighs 3.4oz and could go easily in a shirt pocket if need be.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive slim flipper for EDC, the Buck Decatur looks good, will work well for everyday cutting tasks, and costs less than $30. You shouldn’t expect to do heavy cutting tasks with it, but it should take down boxes, tags, fruit, or your steak pretty easily.
