The Rough Ryder Pipe Doctor is a new release from Rough Ryder. It’s a cleverly designed, highly functional pipe tool with a great look and tons of utility you can get for about $15.
The main blade is a 3” sheepsfoot “reaming blade” that’s, as always, razor sharp straight out of the box. It not only functions beautifully as a knife, it doubles as a truly effective pipe bowl scraper. The blade opens with an extra-long match strike pull so that you can use it to strike matches. Instead of the ordinary paddle blade you’d find on a Doctor’s Knife, the Pipe Doctor has a pick. This is an essential component for any pipe tool because everyone overpacks their bowl at some point. The pick also doubles as a reamer for the airway into the bowl of the pipe.
Framing the beautiful smooth tobacco bone handles are nickel silver Slant ‘R Bolsters. They’re pinched, lined, and slanted giving this knife a great look. The end bolster functions perfectly as a tamper. Completing the overall look is a nickel silver pipe shield.
The 3.75” closed length practically disappears in your pocket. It also is a convenient carry in even the smallest of pipe pouches. It comes packaged in a great, weathered looking magnetic clasp Collector’s Box.
