Not only is the Carbon Fiber Spyderco Autonomy 2 fast and fabulous, it’s a solidly built beefy workhorse with some seriously nice touches. It has a great feel in hand and a powerful opening. This out-the-side, push button automatic knife is available exclusively at Smoky Mountain Knife Works – smkw.com.
The original handle on the Autonomy 2 was a textured G-10 with stainless steel liners and hardware. Spyderco tells us this exclusive version, “…features stunning solid carbon fiber scales. Incredibly strong and ultra-lightweight, the scales have a peel-ply texture that complements the handle’s refined ergonomics to ensure a secure grip in even the most demanding conditions.” The grip on this really is outstanding. It’s just slip resistant enough to provide a good grip without wearing on your pocket. It also has all black, non-reflective coated stainless-steel liners, hardware, and a black ambidextrous tip-up hourglass pocket clip which gives this knife an overall cohesive and refined look.
The CF Autonomy 2 has a 3.5” satin finished drop point blade with a full-flat grind and a blade thickness of 0.114”. There’s jimping along the thumb ramp for a secure grip. It fires open with authority at the push of an easily indexed and oversized button. There’s also a secondary sliding safety that removes any possibility of accidental deployment.
